I don’t know many people that would work an hr for 15% off of a pie so the people complaining about this scheme are idiots. Just hope it registers with more unemployed to get more charity work done. Dragonfly Stay wild moon child shirt It will also help give people a purpose to get up in the morning. Nothing wrong in showing people they’re appreciated and needed. A lot of people who volunteer are elderly or unemployed themselves so having a little help to buy their lunch would be very welcome and might make the difference between them deciding to help or not

Dragonfly Stay wild moon child shirt I wanted to get something like this started in my community to encourage more people to volunteer. Nice to see someone actually made it work! Mine was easier you earned a card from the nonprofit after a certain number of hours or days of volunteering. These cards could be used at shops in the valley and would offer discounts of up to 50% (with certain restrictions). Simple but really the same idea.

I think this is wonderful! As an employee of a non-profit, we are always looking for ways to say thank you to our volunteers- but we don’t have the funds to do much. For local businesses to get involved, that makes it even better. I donate blood and I sometimes get a free shirt or tickets to something. It’s just an incentive to do more good than you’re already doing. Love this idea. Especially when charities have to list the number of volunteer hours when applying for subsidies. They are taken into account by agencies has money value. For the actual people, nothing is accounted for their time spent helping and giving a hand in the community. 10% off days for seniors why not volunteers?
