Joel – in your first comment when you ignorantly said that those who don’t donate shouldn’t get organs. That’s abusive. And where you joked? You’re cute little “sounds fair? I think so” and then your backtracking “I was only half serious” I get it – you’re incapable of understanding consequences and you’re really upset to be called not a good guy. Jen Vander Els As a thinking person, Hippie I’m a joker I’m a smoker I’m a midnight toker I get my loving on the run shirt I assumed one could easily tweak the suggested law to adjust accordingly. If you are able to donate and choose not to, you go to the end of a line to wait. There aren’t enough organs to go around: if someone has to die to wait for it should be those that chose not to donate when they could (obviously those that have no choice are exempt).

Joel JW Westerdahl, it sounds a little mean, but at the same time, Hippie I’m a joker I’m a smoker I’m a midnight toker I get my loving on the run shirt I agree, we only have a good functioning society when most in society contribute! And if you’re not willing to contribute to society, such as you have died and have healthy organs to donate but refused, then why should you get the benefit of getting an organ if you need one. You can have everything from me once I die. Courtney Raymond Lundsett that would be good for me then in the case of donation. However. what if they need to survive. And have the money to cough up(pun lol) to get a set of badly needed lungs. Even stupid rich people should deserve a chance. At least they’re stupidly good at making money.

Lindsey Klaassen how will they manage the option by relatives which is proposed by the expected legislation without a formal process. Nothing happens without due process. Currently, it’s a choice to be a donor. Once it becomes an assumption of consent then there have to be safeguards around that. The fact is that it is complicated. What about mentally impaired people and assumed consent – how will we manage that through. There are a myriad of issues and currently, there is no evidence that their assumed consent has increased organ donation rates in Wales where it’s been trialed I’m not making it up and you are a fool if you can’t see past it’s simple and you have an opt-out argument. Anything to do with NHS systems and people and their bodies are rarely simple.
