Ever heard the phrase “beauty is in the eye of the beholder”? I genuinely do think she’s lovely. I’m sorry you can’t see beyond a disability. And who are you to decide what people find attractive or not? Bridgette Burnett thank you. She is really lovely and such a great role model for women who don’t fit into current beauty standards (which is most of us). I see her and I feel like there is hope for me, too. Who says that she’s “obviously not attractive”? I think she’s gorgeous. Having a disability doesn’t automatically make someone unattractive, but being ignorant and judgmental does! I agree to some extent with you, it still doesn’t give carte blanche for anyone to tear others apart, just because they feel entitled to. Shielded themselves from a screen doesn’t make the filth they spew less hurtful. As a society, we need to re-evaluate ourselves and be more empathetic with everyone. I didn’t even specify anybody, I was speaking topically. But yalls covert opinions are coming to light by the way you’re responding. Yall think she’s unattractive, I didn’t even say it. Your heads are just littered with the thoughts. Wait, you didn’t find her beautiful? Oh man, I am so sorry. Like, you don’t have to want to boink her senseless or anything…but you really couldn’t see a single lovely thing about her at all? Physical or emotional? That’s…I’m really sad for you. You are beautiful and talented! Any persons who could say such awful things are cowards hidden behind a screen, and playing on what they “think” you’re insecure about. When in reality, they’re greatly insecure themselves. Remember that! It truly is THEIR issue, not yours.

You are beautiful and so very brave. Ignore the trolls, they are sad, desperate people looking for some kind of attention. Do what makes you happy and you will shine. It sickens me to think that people would call her the rude and despicable names they do. This is outright abuse. All this woman is trying to do is, live life like anyone else, and showing people with disabilities that they can feel beautiful and confident too. She’s not asking anyone to call her beautiful. I’m sorry that you are getting stupid people thinking its ok to talk to people the way they do, I think you are beautiful carry on doing what you are doing, ignore the haters they are fools and need to get a grip. Honestly! I really don’t understand the hateful vitriol people spit. The people that behave in such a way must be the worst lungs of spiteful, miserable people. Lol- of course as history has shown us over and over, the church interpretation is always ridiculous- thank goodness there are always people who push through it and advance us mentally, physically, socially and culturally. By the time the last person has got through the start gate quite some time has gone, most of these slower runners are running for charity’s as well as themselves and deserve all the respect and support they can get. If you have volunteered or are being paid to help please remember that. If you don’t want to help I suggest you don’t.Don’t forget each runner PAYS MONEY to run in the race and you’d expect to get water on route. I’m so gutted for them. That would put me off running. Wow, that is so sad, each person’s goals in an event is different and should be respected. Well done to them for completing a marathon! They achieved something that not everyone can do even if they wanted to. Running a marathon is so hard. It’s not about the speed you run it, it’s about running it in general. Actually RACING a marathon is a whole other level or athletic ability. The vast majority of marathon runners aren’t concerned about speed. This story is just horrible and embarrassing. When I watched the New York marathon last year I watched till the very last runner finished. It was a party! This is pretty disgusting. While I appreciate, people wanted to get home, and cleaning up and dismantling of water stations shouldn’t have started until the final runner had gone through. I am assuming someone would have been able to confirm that with them. Everyone has to start somewhere and this will have spoiled a marathon which should have been a special event. I remember running my first half marathon….didn’t realise it was a hard course and from halfway round St Johns Ambulance was touting for me. I did finish but was told I wouldnt and should just give it up…was soul destroying at the time. I really hope this is sorted for next year so that it remains a special day for everyone taking part. A sad day – so sorry to hear that these amazing people were not supported or appreciated!! Well done EVERYONE who managed to get around the course. And 37,000 people cheered them on including 1,000 applaudings for the last finishing (made up numbers but I hope you get the point)–A certain number of people are always going to be A-holes. Despicable. Every single persona who started this marathon and ended it, is a hero. And the organisers should be ashamed of themselves. This needs proper investigation and everyone who was bullied needs to report it! There was a great commercial a while back of a run crew tearing down and packing up when a large man–knees bloody and covered in sweat crossed thr finish line the workers hastily put back up for him.
