The NHS covers the cost of illness caused by smoking, Mary Poppins Teacher life got me feelin’ like supercalifragilistic Expialidocious shirt and alcohol excess, all of which is an individuals choice and self-inflicted conditions. This man was in a bad way and would have been a huge drain on NHS resources over time – he made a choice to change his life and should be commended for doing so. I would fully support this. One can balance the cost of the surgery for this procedure vs the cost of looking after an obese person and subsequent illnesses and treatments over the course of their lives. While I don’t advocate a “free ride” for the surgery I think a reduced rate for people who are obviously living more healthily and therefore have become less of a burden on the NHS should be commended and encouraged.

My daughter has a genetic muscle condition after having children her stomach muscles cant contract back into place and cant gets this fixed due to cosmetic reasons so why would an obese person who had control of there condition get NHS treatment great he has lost all that weight tho. Mary Poppins Teacher life got me feelin’ like supercalifragilistic Expialidocious shirt I unfollowed him when I saw the go fund me page. I understand it must be hard but it is cosmetic so he should pay for it himself. I agree he boasts an extravagant lifestyle and it’s not fair to ask people to give him money when he’s very clearly spending his own money on eating out and holidays etc.

I commend him for losing that much weight but let’s face it, he was a glutton all of those years so why should the government pay for the skin removal? Take out a loan or pay for it as you would do a new car. I think the NHS should pay for surgeries such as this. As the money, he’s saving the NHS with health problems linked to obesity surely equals the cost out. And of course he’s not had any weight loss surgery to achieve this feat, so bravo to him.
