Good idea to bring more people and encourage others to spread kindness and volunteering. I don’t see as payment, just help in both ways. I believe the ones the criticize the idea are the ones that don’t do anything to help your community. Bless and be kind! Moist because at least one person you know hates this word shirt I think this is a great idea and would not be difficult to set up as most cities have their own virtual ‘coinage’. I would love to see this in Birmingham. We have a huge community of volunteers, offering a reward seems fitting.
Amen so true. Moist because at least one person you know hates this word shirt I found out because of the black skin I never received any help or reward here in the Netherlands during my successful community work for young and old. I did charity work in the community for more than ten years never got rewarded. I praise all the people in the world that do charity work. It’s a great initiative you already have volunteered, donate time system in place. Now the person gets a little something to make him or she feel appreciated. This is not payment. It’s like points on your Ikea or like loyalty points. They can pass it to family members or refuse. It shouldn’t make them feel that they are taking payment, giving your time to a cause or charity is a wonderful way to give back to society many do it and don’t expect anything in return and thus is not a return. It’s a simple Thank you from the community at large. Almost like a Pay it forward kind of a scheme
Great idea A win-win situation both for those in need & that unemployed Volunteering is fine but people who need work should at least get a basic wage instead. Seems more & more positions are a volunteer nowadays & more people are unemployed while businesses are getting bigger & bigger profits & governments are raising taxes. Completely amazed at the number of people saying you don’t volunteer for rewards. What has happened to people?! Volunteering is done for many reasons a hobby, work experience, leaning and developing new skills, giving something back to the community the point is, it’s nice to be nice and give a little something back to those who volunteer regardless of their reasons for doing so!
