Once upon a time there was a girl who really loved fishing it was me shirt I’m frankly shocked at the number of wailing blokes on this thread, it’s bad even for Facebook. They manage to sink so low that they target pregnant women in order to make themselves feel important and find someone to blame their insecurities on. Maddie Peer I at no point said being a mother is punishment it was in reference to Jerry saying that woman make that choice so basically should suffer the consequences. It takes two to make a child so why is it always the mother who is supposed to sacrifice and who is punished if she wants to go back to work.

Some of the comments on here from people are ridiculous. Maternity leave isn’t just a right for women it’s a right for their babies too. The first year of a child’s life is so important and they need their mum. Women can’t win anymore, we’re called lazy if we take maternity leave to care for our baby and we’re a Once upon a time there was a girl who really loved fishing it was me shirt and abandoning them if we go back to work. There’s already so much pressure on women at such a vulnerable time, we shouldn’t have even more put on us for fear of losing our jobs as well. Maternity pay isn’t exactly a fortune, most women go back sooner than they would like to and I’m sure these companies aren’t exactly losing anything because of it

My role wasn’t there when I got back to work and they hadn’t informed me. They then tried to demote and suggested now that I had two kids I might want to step back. They then went on to suggest my skills were not up to scratch which wasn’t the case. In the end, I quit as I was so demoralized and humiliated, only to be told that I need to pay my maternity payback. Those siding with the employer, SME or otherwise, have not considered who will pay for your retirement and your hospital bills if women didn’t have children? Apart from a human, social and legal right, healthy children from stable families are a necessity for any economy. What you are talking bout is absolute drivel.
