At the end of her life, my grandmother responded to her great-grandchildren more than anyone else. She just lit up when they were in front of her. And her toe tapped to music. She was otherwise nonresponsive. There is something about little kids and music that gets through. It’s beautiful and heartbreaking all at once. Team King lifetime member shirt I think this is an awesome idea, however, both of these age groups are immunocompromised. Unfortunately, I would think the germ and bacteria exposure would result in a much higher risk of sickness for both children and elderly.

My great aunt has dementia. She comes to visit her brother as often as she can. We have a family friend that will take her back and forth. Her husband had altziemers and she watched him deteriorate, it nearly took her down too. She knows my mom and her nieces and nephews as kids. She knows they’ve grown up. She gets to meet her great, great Team King lifetime member shirt and nephews each time she visits. My nephew, her great-great-nephew, adores her! They always laugh. And when she doesn’t remember who he is, he’s quick to tell her and they pick up like she never left.

I know how well this works first hand. My dad has dementia and my two kids bring out the man I thought we lost a long time ago. It’s hard to have someone close to you suffer from dementia they become a different person to the memories, but what gets me through it all is that he is still grandad to my kids, he’s not ill, he’s not acting off, he’s just grandad. And that’s all they want from him. I absolutely love this. Such a terrible disease Alzheimer’s and dementia is.. it runs in my family and my worst fear is forgetting, not knowing my husband or my children. Some say you wouldn’t know any different, but I know now. I’ve also worked with people with this disease and how much music made a difference I love what they are doing here
