Drinking alcoholic beverages as part of one’s daily diet was a normal part of life for thousands of years around the world before puritan culture and later factions of the evangelical movement in the US demonized the very idea of alcohol and equated all drinking with drunkenness. To drink or not to drink is an individual’s choice, Wine Christmas shirt and I applaud many of the points made in the article but to claim a moralistic high ground about the role of alcohol in our society is to ignore how history treats the issue.

I’m not a mom but in my experience with the multitude of great moms in my life, the wine coffee mug is a joke and usually filled with COFFEE that powers them through their 18+ hour day. Instead of attacking the wry humor that women use to cope, wouldn’t it be more helpful to examine why contemporary motherhood is such a stress-inducing enterprise? I’ve never understood why some people enjoy drinking but think pot is evil and shouldn’t be legalized I don’t use either substance but it only seems logical that if one is legal the other should be too. A drug is a drug is a drug. They all impair mental function. Also, there’s an awful lot of justification and denial in these comments. I will even one up the t-shirts I’m part if a moms drinking group that meets once a month at a bar. I assure you we are all successful women with great kids we like to drink and chat and do Christmas shots of rum Chata at our annual cookie exchange
