The problem with women’s football is that it will never be more popular than the males, therefore, they would never get the amount of money that male football players get. I’ve just taken up rugby at 42 and the most inspiring thing my coaches said – his job is to make sure we come back, he doesn’t care if we can play or are fit enough as long as we have fun and want to come back week after week – funny how footballers feel it’s all about the way you look. The fastest way to get more women playing football it to make them as profitable as male players, that’s down to them really, personally image/brand.
