This CHILD was arrested for his threatening behavior, not for refusing to say the pledge. Get it straight. That being said, the sub should have been informed that this child does not participate in the pledge. Or, did this CHILD decide to refuse just to see what the sub would do? Plenty of blame to go around here. Donna Van Gelder King the child hadn’t been standing for the pledge, it’s not like he just did it on that day. Yes, I am the crazy skull lady shirt It escalated because the substitute did not know the law or the policy of the school and called in the resource officer and the dean. He acted out because his constitutional rights were being violated, but it did say that he reacted non-violently. The school issued a statement saying that substitute would not teach in that county ever again.
Yes I am the crazy skull lady shirt, tank top, youth tee, ladies tee, v-neck
We understand the story. The point is the teacher had the opportunity to be reasonable, Yes I am the crazy skull lady shirt and handle the situation better. The whole situation was escalated due to her blindness towards the plight of certain citizens of our country. But the headline makes it sound like that’s why the kid was arrested. If a parent wants to sign a paper saying my kid doesn’t have to stand then so be it. But, kids should do as they are told just like you do what a police officer says if you don’t like it take it up later in the office or in a courtroom. Kids should never be allowed to disrupt a classroom and it is ok. My biggest beef with this is the misleading headline because half the people with an opinion didn’t take the time to find out where they stood before stating their opinion.
Yes I am the crazy skull lady shirt, hoodie, sweater, and long sleeve
Gina Gregory Oxendine the kids future probably is bright, obviously, he feels that way for some reason. Sooo good for him for standing up for himself and voicing his opinion that people are racist bc this day in age people are racist and it’s out of control. The kid will probably end up in prison or worse because kids aren’t taught to listen to authorities anymore. If he had a grievance take it to the principal learn to handle what he sees as “injustice” in a proper way. My daughter in middle school was hit by a girl who was jealous of her talking to her boyfriend. My daughter after being hit, throw her drink in the girls face. The bus was still at the school and the driver ordered them both off the bus. Long story short my daughter could have protested she didn’t hit anyone, she instead left it to the adults to handle and I went to school and handled it. The other girl was suspended from the bus. My daughter did the right thing she didn’t hit her back and got off the bus.
